Book Review: Great Sewn Clothes from Threads Editors
Once I got past the unattractive models in ugly clothes on the cover, I found a treasure trove of detailed information that advanced sewers just love. This older book is a handy collection of classic Threads magazine articles that focus on designer details and couture techniques. The first article features Chanel jackets with colorful illustrations and detailed instructions on how to reproduce the iconic garments. I'm really looking forward to applying the information when I make my first Chanel jacket. I think this portion of the book alone was worth the price of the entire publication.
The book also covers Balenciaga, Vionet, and other designers and their signature details. I don't realistically see myself applying their insights, but it's interesting browsing material.
